Ok this may be long so please be patient...
My problem is that when my car was running it would run rough, shake at idle when going uphill would stall. I had a bad plug and coil, and replaced all plugs and the bad coil. The problem persisted after a few days of driving and died on me while attempting to get onto the interstate (uphil onramp). So off to the SAAB mechanic it went. The SAAB mechanic advised me that the turbo is gone and there is a small oil leak from an O-ring on a pump (not very specific). He also said it would cost $1,600 to fix the problem. Well I am a returning adult college student (economy crushed my career) so money isn't easy to come by. So i picked up the car and drove it home today (did not get it fixed). Leaving the garage the car died on me and wouldn't start (battery died). They jumped the car and I let it idle (it idled rough) then off I went. Once on the road I didn't have any issues, got it home and it idles fine. The turbo spools and gives the car power without fail, and no white smoke comes out of the pipe. The odd thing is now my fog lights won't work. Not that they are burned out, but the car won't even light the light on the dash on (have not checked fuses yet). I am wondering if my turbo is an really the issue (115,000 miles on it) or if I am having an electrical issue. Previous SAABs I have owned have given me really odd problems due to fuses, lights, and switches. Any ideas are welcome, I just want my car back on the road!
