Hello,
I purchased the 2008 Sports Combi used last spring (33300 miles), and it was starting fine until this fall when the weather turned cold. The engine will crank but not engage immediately. It usally takes 5- 8 attempts for it to start. Once the engine is warmed up, I can turn off the car and it restarts normally. the problem only occurs when the car has not been started for 8-12 hours. The amount of gas in the tank or where I purchase gas has no effect.
I have taken it to the dealer twice--the second time leaving it for a week. Both times computer read outs showed nothing wrong, even when they were able to recreate the problem. They reprogramed the engine claiming the problem should be solved. I went to pick up the car at the dealer after hours and it still wouldn't start properly. This is my 11th Saab, and I have never encountered this problem.
The car is Saab Certified. Any suggestions about what I should ask them to look at?
Thanks, I absolutely rely on my car for critial work schedules and can't be worrying if my car will start every morining.
