You will be giving up 15K fewer miles and $6K to gain a two year newer car. This baffles me without additional information.
As far as the manually shifting automatic - I never use it in our 2006. It seems unresponsive, you really need that third pedal to shift properly. Releasing the throttle to shift confuses the TCM! When you release the throttle to shift the TCM "thinks" engine load has decreased and delays the desired upshift/downshift by 3 seconds of so. The best response is to not move your throttle foot when nudging the shift lever, but even this is less sporty than letting the auto box do its job.
