Not that I want to get him in trouble but it is very possible to kill audio stuff by jump starting the early Sport Sedan cars. You should never use jump start but instead charging the battery in the car with a charger and the key removed from ignition. It is several posts about it if you search.
It is the sudden voltage spikes through marginal jumper cable or marginal jump battery that send chock waves through the system during the cranking sequence.
Usually the ICM goes bad so you don't get anything on the display. It might be possible for the Amp1 as well even though that one is more known to die from moisture since it is under the driver seat.
Now it might be electric shops that can rebuild your part instead of having to install a new one.
