It's your driving style, unfortunately. Posted by SWEDECAR [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Re: Measured Fuel Economy / 2006 9-3 SC 2.0T, Mike B, Mon, 11 Apr 2011 18:52:15 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
You can easily alter your gas mileage 15 mpg by driving style and where you live and work (type of roads).
Since we got out 07 2.0T Auto I have checked it several times and a nice 40-50 mile trip on the freeway at 70 mph generates about 30-32 mpg at the end.
My wife's daily commute (50 mile round trip) + run around town driving and a slightly heavy foot never gives her better than 24-25 mpg.
If I take the car to work for a week (4 mile round trip) and a heavy foot, I get 15-16 mpg.
That's the way it is. You can use different gasoline's, you can check the tire pressure, you can turn off A/C but nothing saves gas more than your driving style.
Newer Volvo's have instant mpg on their trip computer and I notice that during my 2 miles test drives with stop lights, right turns and such, it hovers around 3-5 mpg with short bursts up to 20-30 while slowing down to the next stop sign.
