Oil over fill from Dealer?

Hi,
When I bought my car('08 9-3 SC) from small dealer(April 2011), he had just bought the car from Shaw Saab.
Shaw did the oil change before small dealer got the car.
I ended up draining out 1/2 a quart to get oil level down to the max line.
Just had the oil changed again from Shaw and had to drain out a full quart to get it down to max line?
Very strange...
Peter
