Your explanation of how the DTE is calculated makes sense, and i'm going to give it a go with my car. I think the thing which took me aback was the fact that I ran out of gas and the car said I still had 41 miles to go. If it had dropped all of a sudden, that at least was explainable in my mind...but it wasn't starting, and said I could go further! Since the DTE is calculated by the ECU and not the fuel tank, no wonder that can happen...thanks again!
