I guess the good news is you should be able to rule out the head gasket. Notice any burning coolant smell, because after my radiator blew from the coyote accident, after she was fixed there was a coolant smell. I guess you can't rule out purus engine block, but to lose that much coolant you would think it would smell. Also, I don't think blocks get purus over time. Soo, check that tammy fluid, that has to be it.

I had my water pump changed at 165k, before the change there was a pool of coolant under the car every morning. Also, you can tell if water pump is leaking easily because you can see a coolant residue coming from it. After they changed my wp, they over tightened the balance chain. At the direction of people on this board (thanks sweedcar) I complained and the dealer fixed it for free. While they were in there, they changed the tensioner but to be honest, the old one looked new.

As far as that type of maintainance, my mechanic says chain is good for life, just keep your ears open because if it does begin to
