32bit Windows Running / Stuck at TIS 2000 Security Access Posted by iveand [Email] (#3155) [Profile/Gallery] (more from iveand) on Mon, 15 May 2023 11:29:34 In Reply to: Key fob programming, iveand [Profile/Gallery] , Sun, 14 May 2023 14:31:49 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
OK, I have 32-bit Windows 10 installed (I do have an XP disc but need to go buy a writable DVD since XP installs via USB were not working), and have TIS 2000 installed. In my TIS 2000 custom disk from the seller there was a driver and "Patch.exe" that I applied.
Installing and running TIS 2000 seem to go OK. I put in the USB dongle, connect the DB9-ethernet cable to the Tech2 and boot the Tech2 to the welcome screen. Then I start TIS 2000. I can go to "Configuration > I/O Management" and choose Tech2 and "Test" and it returns successfully. So I THINK that communication to the Tech2 seems good?
But when I attempt to open "Security Access" on TIS 2000, I select "Tech 2" and "Next" and I can see on the Tech2 it downloads something, but then comes back saying "E3324: Access to Security Access was denied!"
So this could be because I really need to get WinXP installed. I'll be going out to buy a burnable DVD to get that done. BUT since it is talking to the Tech2 maybe there is something else I am not doing correctly? Is there any other check? In "Configuration > Security Device System Driver" it shows I have the "Activator Hardware Key", the "Parallel Security Key", and the "USB Security Key" (at least it is possible to remove those 3). It does say at the bottom "GM Access Server is not Detected", maybe that is the clue that explains my problems.
Thanks for any further help. I feel like after it is working it will all make sense, but currently it doesn't work and I am utterly confused. What a convoluted process!
