Well, the ovloV will be a bit more powerful. At what point do you stop with ower? Beyond several stretches of interstate highway, there is not much opportunity to use more than, say, 220 hp or so.
That being said, I do not think the S60 is as much fun to drive. The SS is very lithe, agile, and sporting - it was designed that way from the start. The S60, OTOH, is a sporty luxury car. A good driver in an SS can use its handling ability to pass a T5 at any given time - assuming an average joe is in the T5. And the SS brakes are phenomenal.
The other concern is space. I am 6'8" and if need be, I can motor the seat up a bit and put a 6 footer behind me in the SS. Try that in an S60. There is simply no room for heads - unlike your 850, which trumps both for room.
The 04's seem to have several introductory problems sorted out. If you remember what some of the first year ovloV's were like (the S60/S80 and even C70), that what is was for the SS: not quite a shining star. But for the most part, they have been okay.
Service, etc is a tossup. I owned an 84 760GLE for a time, and my local ovloV dealer is the biggest outside Sweden. i was always treated like royalty. I do at the Saab depot as well; but I have bought 6 cars or so from them.
