I did my own research on the SAAB turbo oil. It is Mobil 1 Euro 0W-30 Long Life. It has a TBN count of about 17.0. That is about 5.0 higher then the next highest oil on the market. The Mobil 1 0W-40 has a TBN count of 12.3. There is about seven oils in Europe that meet the GM-LL-025 spec, but only two in the US that meet it.
The UOA that Jason posted is from a guy from another SAAB site. I changed my oil at 3,000 miles and I will change it every 3,000 after that. I drive 90% city. I only have 6,000 miles on my SS since I bought it seven months ago. I put on 2,000 miles on a road trip around xmas.
If you want to play it safe. I would change out your oil at 5,000 miles. then follow what the computer says. The computer will keep running after you changed the oil. So it will be about 10,000 miles for your next free oil change.
If you are planning to change your oil every 5,000 miles or so. Go out and but any group III or IV synthetic oil on the market. The only reason SAAB tells you to use the two oils with the GM-LL-025 spec is for the 15,000 mile drain interval.
