with all due respect...the way i see it we as cosumers of cars shouldn't be telling service departments how to trouble shoot/fix them. i think folks would agree this is why we take our expensive cars to places like dealerships for service...for conveniece, piece of mind, and for the majority of purchasers who don't know how or have the proper equipment to fix them.
not to go down a rat hole, but as a mechanical design engineer making computer servers...i know robustness of product/attention to customer needs are highly important factors we consider...while keeping the design within spec./at cost/on time. i think gm/saab on the new 9.3 and i would suspect on the new 9.5 when it comes out (unless they have learned from the 9.3 ss experience) missed the boat!
even though saab may have needed gm to stay in business, one sure way to go out of business is to neglect your customer!
sorry for the small rant, but i was so dissapointed w/my 3rd saab experience(2003 linear)...
thanks,
dan
