It's all good...... Posted by Mike Lynch [Email] (#81) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Mike Lynch) on Sat, 26 Jun 2004 12:30:27 In Reply to: I might just get the 9-3 arc any suggestions?, Dennis, Sat, 26 Jun 2004 08:05:26 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Heated seats/cold package are always nice. Xenons are trick, but not neccessarily better as all 9-3's are the projector beam style and the halogens have better dispersion and are cheaper. Touring is 6 disc CD, rain sensing wipers and auto dim/HomeLink/compass inside mirror. You can get the factory 6 disc and the mirror from the Saab accessory catalog, but if you did, the price of the touring package would get you the rain sensing wipers for free. Rear park assist is nice and not too pricey. 17" wheels are personal preference, but IMO more for looks than handling as the 16's handle fine.
A "no option" car is is very well equipped indeed, but I wish they would have made the heated seats standard like on a 9-5. I'd prefer the heated seats to the memory seats like a 9-5 too.
The parchment interior cleans up fine and for 2004 the carpets and mats are dark so I wouldn't be afraid of the light interior even with kids.
My very last customer selected a Linear with premium package which except for the infotainment screen on the radio, looks identical to the Arc. The Arc was $3k more and quite a bit more on the lease as the Linears have an extra large lease incentive and as I said, are about $3k less. Around town the Linear feels snappier than the Arc.
Demo's aren't always a better buy. Lots of dealers don't adjust the cost of a demo, they just wait for someone who thinks they're getting a better deal or they steer aggressive price folks that way.
