Yes, it would be possible that the caliper is bad. Perhaps the other side is siezed and that leaves the driver's side to wear out!
Could be the slider bolts. Remove wheels and push the inboard pads back to force the pistons in. If piston will not move, that a problem. When the piston is forced back, see how the slider works. If that is not free to move, thats a problem. Inspect the boots that cover the slider bolts.
You can do this work yourself. Search NG900 BB for drs<underscore>install and find the front brake work post.
Front design layout probably very similar, but not sure. Was same for OG 9-3's.
