2005's haven't arrived just yet, except in the case of 9-2X's, which BTW have great incentives too.

Ask your local dealer about the incentives. They're not public, but instead private incentives to the dealer that can be used before sales tax. If they were public they would become taxable rebates, but most dealers will share them with you privately anyway.

The incentives are complicated, different for every model and different again for lease and purchase, so your sales consultant may not be as dumb as they appear, they just wan't to be cautious and accurate.

Some general guidlines to consider. Purchase incentives are in lieu of 0% financing for 60 months. It's the 0% that sounds attractive and get's folks in the door, but in most cases taking the incentive and paying a low market rate will result in a lower payment.

Saab leases combine a huge incentive, greater incentive in the case of the Linear sedans, AND are COMBINED with a super low susidized lease rate, typically from about 1.7%-0.5%. IMO the best overall deal on any Saab. Leases are incentive AND rate, purchases are incentive OR rate.

For September the hot tips are: 1. Linears have a greater incentive for leasing than purchase. 2. For a lease a more expensive Arc model leases for the same as a less expensive Linear. Arcs have greater incentives, lower rates and higher residuals which when combined, overcome the price difference.

No reason not to go for an '04 and their huge incentives as '05s are essentially the same car in and out, a few new colors and the availibility of nav are the major minor changes.
