I have scheduled an appointment with the Service and will try to cover all of this. Regarding the shiftting brakes - I've never heard anything similar on all other cars I've driven: Mitsubishi-Handas-Audi. It seems like something is out of tolerance.
My frustration with the service is their inability to identify the sources of the rattle/squeaks. At my job I often have to troubleshoot very complex robotic equipment both electrically and mechanically so my ears are well tuned to "abnormal" sounds. The B-pillar thing is mysterious. I can bet it is something on the inside, but techs have told me that ervrything looks tight. It may be reflecting from the door an into the pillar, I do not know.
In general, SAAB looks like the most "audiable" car I've driven. This is a disappointment, given the price and the dynamical properties. All internal panels seem squeakky when pushed, the B-pillar covers are soft and emmit rubber-like sounds etc. When going up the small ramps (gas stations, parking lots, etc) where the car twists a bit this rubbery squeak is rather pronounced. Also, the car was delivered with the knobs that hold driver's side floor mat loose. May be this one was built on Monday...
And yeah, I lived on East Coast, Rocky's. LA's city roads suck. OC is much better, so is NorCal, in general.
