In my view the 9-2X small wagon is far more appealing than the stubbed-off, cross-over Sporthatch look. I also want a hatch, but not a rear-door. I prefer a sloping rear HATCH unless it is a small wagon. Give the existing 9-3SS AWD and the 9-5 Aero engine, and I will be first in line. For THAT, I will forgo the hatch. Hey GM, the answer is out there!!! Give us the 9-3SS AWD Viggen successor.

I am a fan of the corner on rails, slingshot out of the corner AWD of the STi and Evo. My Viggen will accelerate better at the higher end, but with much more ragged-edge feeling.

If the AWD is for real snow, I laugh at the AWD cars and SUVs slipping and sliding as I motor by in my true 4WD pickup with heavy tread tires. However, a good FWD with a manual trans and a decent snow-wise driver will usually outperform an AWD automatic. I usually see Saabs doing quite well in the snow.

I have been a VW-AUDI group fan for years, and loved the TT to look at and drive, but could not live with the contortions to enter the capsule. I am leery of long term ownership costs of the Audi A4 family, as work colleagues have indicated the work they needed done was very, very expensive (fortunately most was under warranty). I would tend to gravitate more to the BMW 3 X series. But a used one, not a Bangleized abomination. There is also the Mercedes C320 class with 4Matic (unfortunately automatic only).
