I snapped an adapter a year ago while attempting to remove the squeal from my brakes. The Ya-Hoos at the Tire Shop had torqued the wheel lugs to over 150 ft-lbs when rotating my tires! The over-torqueing was the cause of the squeal.
Based on this I should be able to achieve something less than 150 ft-lbs using a 1/2 to 3/8 adapter. My only uncertainty is knowing the ultimate achieved torque at the completion of the final 1/4 turn, and will the adapter be able to survive it? Guess I could always get a spare just in case. Thannks.
