I think something is wrong with this picture. I have never gone through a clutch in close to 40 years of driving, so I don't think I have been hard on the clutch. I do shift quickly but that never hurt my 9000T, which I took to close to 150K miles on the same clutch. Bought this car new and drive about 65 % highway. What I find peculiar is that it started slipping over a year ago when accelerating in third but then it disappeared. Yesterday, as I was going up a hill I take in third regularly, the engine surged a bit (and the wheels were not spinning). Tried to floor it in fourth today, and the engine surged a bit so I guess something is going. Very disappointed with this. The car has not been particularly reliable, although things seem to have been sorted out, but I thought at least it would be durable. Now I have a clutch to change a PCV modification, which has increased oil consumption and an engine that could blow up due to sludge.
