Hard wiring cell phone -- 2004 9-5 Arc without OnStar

I am getting a new 2004 Arc sedan next week, and I am thinking about hard wiring my LG VX6000 cell phone. The car does not have Onstar. A handsfree kit is available.
My 2001 9-5 had a cable "hidden" in the dash for that purpose (using the $20 Saab adapter) -- I couldn't use it, however, because that car had OnStar and I gave that car to my wife before trying an uhltronics unit.
Does the 2004 also have a cable in the dash to hard wire a cell phone? If so, do I use the same $20 adapter? Is there a microphone in the overhead console of non-OnStar cars? Assuming that it is possible, what "features" does hard wiring the phone give you other than playing through the stereo speakers... i.e. does the radio automatically cut out, does anything get dispayed in the SID etc.?
Thanks in advance for any feedback. I appreciate it.
