DI = Direct Ignition (Cassette), if you open the hood..

uh...i.e. the front of the car, look down on top of the engine (i.e. that big thing kinda in the middle of the car).
For a V-6, you have two DIs, one for each bank. The DIs should sit right on top of the engine, if you look closely, each should have something like "Direct Ignition" on it.
Yes, DIs are expensive, more so for a V-6 as you need two of them. However, DIs for the V-6 seem to be more reliable or durable, but you from past postings that they can die unexpected as well.
We had discussions as to whether to carry one single spare or two spares for the V-6 or if one DI dies, should both DIs be replaced....etc..
Now, make sure you know how to disconnect the cable to the DI while your car is still working so you know how to change the DI in case...
