Yes I'm probably biased (I'm a UF grad and loved my time in Gainesville), but comparing the UF and Miami campuses is really an apples and oranges comparison. UF is a Gothic style campus in North Central Florida (which in my view is gorgeous) while Miami's is much more modern and South Florida looks nothing like North Central.
I always thought that Gainesville was a great college town that coexisted very well with the its surrounding community. Others may differ, but its sure beats Tally/FSU! ;-)
