9-5 Wagon vs. X3

Hi everyone. I'm new to this board and found it while researching the 9-5 Wagon. I'm so happy to find a board where users are actually knowledgeable and friendly about cars (rather than listing modifications done to their headlights).
My wife and I are shopping for a new vehicle. We're comparing the Saab 9-5 Wagon either Linear or Arc and the BMW X3 3.0.
She'll be the primary driver. We have an infant and a two year old.
Anyone ever cross-shop these? The 9-5 is clearly more bang for the buck. The X3 has two advantages:
1) vehicle height to get the baby and toddler into and out of the car seats.
2) no DI casette. I'm a bit worried about this given the unpredictable nature of it dying since my wife and kids will be in the car.
I'd love any input whether it's positive or negative. Plus, what are current incentives?
Thanks
