In the last 20 years I have driven several SAABs on many transcontinental road trips (1986 900 once, 1991 9000T multiple times, 1992 9000T multiple times, 2001 Aero twice), and have NEVER had a problem enroute, except for one flat tire, and I would take any of my SAABs out tommorrow and drive it on a 3000 mile trip without giving it a second thought. I'd check the oil at every other fillup, but would not have to add a drop, and I'd get the oil changed at the destination because I like to keep it to 4,000 miles, and that's it.

And if I did have a problem along the way, it would be the first one in approx 60-70,000 miles of transcon SAAB driving.

Plus the SAAB will do 1,000 miles a day in comfort, about double what that "reliable" Toyota Tercel can do!
