"Id never look at a Saab ever again if GM sold it to the Chinese as the Chinese know about as much about building cars as Saudis know about making ski equipment."
Where should I begin . . .
There is no comparision between Chinese technology and Saudi technology. Chinese technology is very advanced. Twenty-five percent or more of the U.S. trade deficit is with China. China is the number one computer manufacturer on planet Earth. Nearly everything is made there now. GM sources many of their engines from there right now, including the 3.5 V6. I don't think there is anything they cannot do, including building missiles capable of wiping us out. But they are too smart for that. Instead, they just buy our treasury debt knowing that they can dump it (or threaten to) and crash the dollar if we don't behave. And they are happy to know that the more stuff we buy from them, the more of us lose our jobs and health care. They are killing us economically.
Would I buy a Chinese Saab? No. But not because of poor quality. I wouldn't buy one because that would be supporting a repressive dictatorship that may someday eat our lunch.
