Once again, I am not talking about crossbars, and not about Saab vs. aftermarket vs. other makes.
I am talking about rail-mounted vs. body-mounted (i.e. like on sedan) crossbars both made by Saab. Both are rated the same load (2 x 100 kg) and both are a breeze to install (ot at least seems so from the owner's manual).
So it seems to me that it is just for looks.
