I replaced the OEM ('03 9-5 Aero) summer-only Pirelli P-Zero Rossos with a set of Kumho Ecsta ASX all seasons recently. Got 26k out of the Pirellis. I'm hoping to get 40k out of the Kumhos, as they've got a 420 treadwear rating compared to the 220 for the Pirellis.
The Pirellis had spectacular grip. Sometimes it felt like the car was about to flip over before they started to break loose. In the snow they were absymal. Since I live in DC and get snow occasionally, but not so much that I wanted snow tires, I went with the all seasons. Considered the Kumhos, the Pirelli Neros, and the Continental ExtremeContacts.
I'm pretty happy with the Kuhmos. The noise and comfort is at least as good as with the Pirellis. They definitely get squirlly sooner than the Pirellis did, but they still grip very nicely. Still lots of fun in the curves. The car actually drives safely in the snow, which is all I need out of it.
I think my total price, including the 4 tires, delivery, and installation came to ~$470. Not bad. The price advantage will be even better if they have a long life. Haven't driven a car with either those Pirelli Neros or the Contis, but I can't imagine they're all that much better. If they wear well I'll definitely consider them again.
