Current Concerns
I have been experiencing two, possibly related problems. First, under
moderate acceleration the car lurches (hiccups) around 2700 - 3000 rpms. This has happened in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears. It seems to occur once the car is warm (driven for at least 10 minutes), and does not occur with regularity, other than with greater frequency lately.
Second issue is stalling. This has occurred while idling in neutral or in gear with clutch engaged while at a stop. It has also occurred while approaching a stop, with no acceleration and when the clutch is engaged as the stop is approached. Finally, it is stalling when I try to make a 90 degree turn (i.e. entering a parking spot) when I engage the clutch. The stalling again appears to occur when the car is warm and has been driven for 10 minutes. After stalling it is difficult to get it started. All lights come on and the starter motor is working, but it seems not to want to finally turn over. (takes about 8 attempts)
I have searched for similar posts and issues that come up are Direct Ignition Cassette (DIC), ECU replacement and some other ignition issues. I am a complete novice about this, so I am submitting this post with the hope I can get information before I go to the dealer (Santa Ana, CA, who have always been quite responsive and considerate). This BB was the reason I was able to get the syncros fixed so quickly AND have SAAB USA pick up 90% of the cost even as it was out of warranty.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Brad
