if it's starting right back up without a need for a lengthy cool down, then I'd guess your car is going into limp home mode.
Could be a problem with the throttle body, or the an initial fault threw the engine into limp home mode and the limp home solenoid never got reset.
As a first step, it would be a good idea to see what codes may have been thrown.
