I've noticed with the V6 that if you have to drive up steep hills every day it really sucks down the gas. I typically get 17 - 18 MPG city, but I know that if I had more of a flat ground commute those numbers would definitely be higher. Having said that I agree with the others, your numbers sound kinda low.

I'd suggest you not get too hung up on the extra dime or two per gallon for premium gas. If you do the math, it doesn't add up to more than a couple hundred bucks a year over 87 octane and you'll probably find your MPG will go down even farther and your performance goes down too. I'd hate to sacrifice performance, that's one of the key things that make these cars fun.
