Oh most definitely it was the tires. I have had 3 maybe 4 9000's running Nokia's during the winter. My son and his friends used to call those cars the Saab snowmobiles. They would go though almost anything - as long as the car's belly didn't get hung up.
My problem is that I have Yokohama AVIS (or something close to that) on the Aero. These are great dry weather tires but hell in anything that's colder than wet. As I stated earlier, I took the Aero on this trip because the weather forecast did not call for snow. Also, the wife and other couple prefer riding in the Aero over the 850 Turbo Wagon.
In my estimation, a good set of snow tires (not the combo "All Seasons" would have resulted in a much more positive experience. But, that's what I have the Volvo for.
Oh well, I don't like taking the Aero out of the garage much below 40 degrees F anyway.
