I wouldn't reject any of 'em...... Folks can recite all the 2002 MCE, mid cycle enhancements, I'll let them list them elsewhere, but it really doesn't obsolete the 2001's. The improvements are somewhat minor and lots and lots of 'em will only be noticed when pointed out by enthusiastic sales folks. I drive the new ones all the time and still happy with my 2000, a 9-5 is a 9-5. I'd rather a 2001 in the right color for less than a more expensive 2002 in a color I didn't like, or without the premium package with Harmon Kardon sound.
You're forced into a 2.3 four if you want a stick, the V6's are auto only. Stick SportWagons are indeed rare. The sport program for the automatic will make a stick driver smile, but more so for the four. Some folks love the V6, it's really a toss up, the High Output Aeros don't seem to be any less reliable
It's all good. Welcome in advance to the ranks of the really cool folks who drive SportWagons...
