It sounds like they have no clue or? The light started to work properly when the car came into the shop.
Why on earth would they drop the oil pan if the oil pressure light doesn't come on when turning the key to running position?????
If the light stays on when the engine is running I could understand.
It is more difficult to do a quick test of the B205/235 engines due to that the oil pressure switch is hidden behind the starter and it is an insulated wire coming out from the switch instead of a naked blade connector.
