9-5's showed up in the US in April of 98. If indeed a new model appears as a MY 2009, it is likely to hit the showrooms in early 2008 so although that is still WAY too long, it is not quite as bad as the 9000,which ran nearly 12 years.
This is to me a far bigger issue than little silly things like fuel filler doors, warning triangles and all the piddly stuff that some folks have been moaning about lately. Saab will not get the chance to decide how to trim out or fit a new car if the potential buyers walk away due to increased competition.
