Sounds like a warped rotor. If the garage turned the rotor the problem will go away temporarily but will come back. A warped rotor needs to be replaced. If you simply turn a ventilated rotor id would end up with relative thick and thin spots that will cause uneven heat distribution and warp the rotor again. If the rotor was solid it could be turned though... Interestingly enough my 9-5 is in the shop today for a warped rotor... It has 5,500 miles on it. I do drive hard though...
