Clear fault codes after DIY throttle body replacement?

I have resolved to do a DIY replacement of my throttle body. Currently the car is in 'limp-home' mode.
In order to get the car out of 'limp-home' mode after I replace the throttle body, do I just need to make sure that the spring/pedal arm is properly set on the new piece? Or do I also need to hook up a Tech II and clear the fault codes (P1230) too?
This will be the third throttle body I've had on this car.
Thanks for any advice you can give!
