Buy a new O-Ring first.... Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Sat, 18 Jun 2005 10:00:22 In Reply to: Removing TB to clean, any 'must know', Bert K, Fri, 17 Jun 2005 08:29:59 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The O-Ring which seals the Air Inlet Tube to the Throttle Body is probably dried-out and hard as a rock (mine was). New one is less than $2 at the Dealer.
I loosed the hose clamp securing the Air Inlet Tube to the Throttle Body, removed one bolt anchoring the Air Inlet Tube near the battery, and removed the BPV from the Air Inlet tube. This was enough to easily move the tube aside to access the insides of the Throttle Body for cleaning.
