First I found # 1 camshaft alignment miss one tooth. That is why the check engine light on I think. Then I made a big mistake. I rotated the #1 camshaft forward try to correct it but it suddenly moved forward about 45 degree and stopped. Then I rotated the #1 camshaft backward try to align to position but again it suddenly moved backward about 45 degree from mark and stopped. Finally I made it on right position. Now the alignments of camshaft and crankshaft are OK. Did I severely damage the engine? Such as the valves? Now the check engine light is on even after I cennected everything. It is safe to drive or need tow to dealer?
