I have a feeling that the 9-5 setup have some bad traits built into the serpentine belt/auxilliary system and with the short belt it just escalate the vibrations that is already there.
I don't feel it is a slipping over power steering pulley but more of a pulsing inside the power steering pump that is magnified with the short belt.
Why the 9-3 doesn't have the same problems I don't know but they also use another power steering pump. The 98-2001 power steering pump in the 9-5 is superseded to the 2002 and up pump. That might be an indication too that something is wrong?
Not all the 9-5s converted have this problem so that kind of tells me it is on a case by case basis. Just like not all cars with converted PCV system burns more oil.
