Picked up my new 9-5 Aeor Friday aft; didn't have much of a chance to drive it till yesterday. Is there a break-in period? Manual says keep it under 5k for 1200miles, dealer said just go. Regular or premium? Manual says 93, dealer said 87 is ok.
Pluses - it's a beauty. Didn't get nav; consider that an expensive toy. If I don't know where I'm going, rare, I use my yearly membership in AAA to get a map. Seats are great, told my wife I'm looking for a parts car to grab some seats to make a couch. Cockpit is super convenient. Figured out the SID, I think, after studying the manual. Put in a new baby seat using the LATCH system, very convenient.

A few minor negs: brights relay not working, won't stay on, just flash on position 1. Can it be that the doors don't central lock when put into drive???? Is something not working, or do I actually have to remember to lock the doors before starting off????

Suspension is tight, tight, tight, not exactly a Brooklyn car. But I'm moving to Nassau next month, hoping for smoother streets and where my driving will be mostly hghwy as opposed to mostly streets presently.

Silly bit, what is that rubber square in the armrest that I keep knocking off that acutally fell down in the hole it's covering?? What's supposed to be there? Or what can I stick in that 2" square space?

Haven't had the joy of Euro handling since my '98 Ford Contour; got too small when the baby came. Been in a Merc. GM last few years; another car with copious plusses and minuses; roomy to a fault.

btw, the 9-5 despite its compact appearance, is definitely a family car. Very roomy and comfortable, since my wife often rides in the back seat with jr.

Further adventures to follow.
