just had my SID changed and the first one did this. If it was set to the off position with the tech 2, the speed alert would come on at exactly 75,and could not be cancelled in any way. Replacement unit did the exact same thing until we tried setting the tech 2 to the speed warning ON position. Then the functions within the SID worked properly. Among the other pages of info that the tech 2 gathered were, gas or diesel, four or six cylinder, and a few others that I did not pay attention to. Guess my point is that it is not really a plug and play swapout. Perhaps some people will be content to wait till their next regular visit to the dealer to get it done, but I am not.I am not a fast driver, and also, never even use the speed warning function in the car, but having it chime at 75 all the time is unacceptable to me.
