Did not notice a mention of your cars model year, but over time many AC sysyems will develop a small or number of small leaks, particularily where there are connections between hoses and components.
It may need to be recharged and I would recommend that you have your indie do this if he has the proper gauges, and that if the system is low the leak be identified and fixed.
Mine leaked at the connector in the high side line, so simply tightening this connector and recharging restored the AC to optimum condition, and it has worked well in 100 + temps in Denver recently.
You can recharge the system yourself with the low cost low side gauge and 134 kit sold at auto stores, but I'd advise caution as in the event of overcharging you can damage the AC compressor. A high side and low side measurement thru accurate AC gauges (expensive- $80) set is what you would ideally need to do this job.
