The 2.3LPT's are the one Saab that doesn't say premium recommended in the gas flap. They are probably the least sensitive to 87 vs 91. It's always OK to run 87 in your Saab. I feel a difference, but I have the 2.3HOT Aero motor and I also seem to get about 5% better fuel economy. I felt a difference in my 2.0 175hp engine too when I had it, but I'm a hard driver with a big hill near my house to stretch it out on.
