Looking at '02 9-5 Aero sedan, issues?

My wife and I are in the market for a 4-door Saab, say a 9-3 or 9-5 sedan or wagon. We chanced upon a midnight blue on beige leather 2002 9-5 Aero sedan with manual transmission (a must for us). Basically, everything we're looking for, except that the car has almost 48K on it after 2 owners.
On the test drive, the engine sounded a *little* raspy, and there was a mild vibration through the gas pedal. Interior and exterior was pretty nice for 48K, the usual stone chips and such.
Per the Carfax report, the first owner was a lessee (0 to 30K), second owner put on over 17K before it made it to the (non-Saab) used car lot. With only 2K left on the warranty, I'm a little concerned about buying, especially to replace my wife's VW GTi with only 34K on it. Also, the local Saab dealer is over 30 miles away, the only one in town, and a real PITA to deal with.
Any thoughts on reliability of the 9-5 Aero with manual transmission? Typical failaures or "check this" items? FYI - I'm on my second Saab, but I'm not as familiar with 9-5's.
Thanks - JMJ
