My CPO warranty on my '99 9-5 expires in a few days--took her in for a good once over. The repairs were extensive this round (turbo, a/c compressor, etc.--read "CPO the only way to go" below). They also apparently found an issue with the sunroof deflector and replaced it as well.
I stumbled across the C pillar cracking issue on saabnet the other day--when i picked her up today, i looked at the seam, and sure enough, serious cracking on both sides. Dlr is going to fix, but apparently needs to get saab rep approval first. Also noticed that the seals had completely deteriorated on the tops of 3 of the 4 plastic covers on the door in the B pillar area. These are being replaced as well.
It truly amazes me how many things on this car have failed in the past 3 years of ownership. I've only put 16K total miles on it since i purchased it, and in that time, i've had replaced (what i remember): turbo, ac compressor, fuel pump, sid, CC display, steering column, fuel pump, engine (sludge), and DIC. The car only has 58K miles!
In some ways, i feel like the 9-5 is an experiment that went very, very bad . . .
