A/Cs impact on performance, and then some... Posted by Johnson [Email] (#3237) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Johnson) on Sun, 11 Sep 2005 22:29:32 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
All this summer I have been driving with the windows rolled up and the A/C going it's hardest. (110 at night is just not very pleasent...) but recently it has been cooling down, so I have reverted back to my old past time of driving with the wondows down, and the A/C off. I realized that when I turned the A/C off, I had an unbelievable difference in performance, I don't think I ever squeeled the tires on a strait away with an auto before, definently not this car ( have only had it the last 4 months, all of which were HOT). I have read there being something posted on here about the performance difference with the a/c on or off, and vibration as well. I am just wondering what people's expirience on this subjet are. Thank you guys for all of your help. This is my second car I have ever owned, the fist being a bit of a Frankenstine as far as parts, and halfassed work goes, and I really want it to last a long time, and be a great car for me! Oh and while I am writing this, quick question for you modders out there, has anybody ever put anti-roll, or sway bars on a '99? what kind of improvments did you get, and where did you get them from? I also am going to be buying new tires soon too, I need good general perfomance tires that are much quiter than my Koyos, which sound terrible. And one last thing, I am thinking of moving from the 16 to the 17" or 18" rims, is this worth the money? do they make any NOTICIABLE difference? I like to drive hard, and love the way the car drives, I just want to add a little stability and handling to the car. Thanks again!
