For safety considerations it is recommended to put the good tires at the rear. Crash, blowout, bad weather and accident scenarios all point to having the best tires at the rear, to keep the car pointed the right direction when it really counts. Lost traction at the rear causes the car to swap ends in low traction situations. A blowout in the front is much safer than a blowout in the rear.
Good tires to the rear is hard to swallow for some people, sorta' counter intuitive "Don't I need the good tires to steer better?", but experienced tire manufacturers and installers know the truth because the courts have taught them.
