If you want to go buy one, try doing the DIY repair first, It can't hurt it too much, I mean you are planning on repacing it any ways, I just did mine and got back about half of the pixles I was missing, and a few more seemed to be coming back online today. I will give it a couple more days to see how many come back. But the screen is readable, and it saved me 350 bucks, and took litteraly 20 minutes tops from pulling it, to putting it back in and reseting the clock. I just pooped the little black boxes out that are to the left of it, where switches would go for stuff if you have the options, and then reached in and slid it out and unpluged it. Then it took a little star screw driver to undo it, and then a flat head screw driver covered in tape was rubbed back and forth across where the ribon connects to the PCB and then a role of tape over it to put the pressure on it, and then put it back together, and poop it back in. super simple. I figured that my screen was far enough gone that it was worth a shot to do the repair myself, and if that did not work, then drop the cash.
