I thought about the weather stripping and the other suggestions, but did not have any of those materials in my junk bin, but I had some masking tape available to me. I just took a lenth of tape as long as the ribbon was that ran across the PCB, and then just rolled it (hotdog style)and then put a small piece of tape to hold it in place. I did not try the iron, because I did not want to melt anything, I belive that if you buy a new SID, you have to return the old core, and I did not want to destroy anything by meliting it, and not getting a core charge back. You lose the information just like hitting the "clear" button, and also the time and date. But those are really easy to reset, just push the buttons for those. The most important part, be patient, it has taken some time, but my pixles are slowling returning to life. Give it a week after you try it to see if anything happens. If not, then buy a new one, but remember to remove what ever you add to the unit before turning it in for a core charge return.
