Hi Anders, I now feel remiss for not filing a complaint with the NHTSA. To me the whole issue involves a decision by Saab to deploy a technology which no other auto maker uses due to well known reliability issues, and when the failures occur Saab is doing their best to keep their distance from the problem. Ridiculous that some owners pay $ 700 to have an ignition system replaced which is destined by design to have a high rate of failure. A financially troubled company yes, but also one that seems to have forgotten what many customers expect in order to be repeat customers.
I found the info you had passed about the other Swedish maker interesting, if only as a point of comparison. If I were one to accept poorly engineered, so so quality auto I'd be driving the american stuff.
